MORE ABOUT ME

Mix the vocal stylings of Hank Williams Jr. and John Conlee, throw in some dynamic songs, and add a touch of great production and "BAM"- Ronnie Baker has all the ingredients that make his self titled debut one heck of a treat. This North Carolina native, uses his rich baritone voice to do each song proud from the heartrending "Don't Blame Love" and "How Far Do I Have to Fall" to the humorously written "One Bar Town" and "Something in Your Eyes." Baker has range and goes even further to prove it on the jazzy ballad "My Heart's Not Playing Anymore."
For a debut CD it is rare for an artist to have an impressive 15 songs come out from the starting gate.
Still, with his single "Somebody Stole the Sun" climbing the charts, an auspicious debut CD, and rave reviews for his live shows, we'll have to keep on eye on what Ronnie Baker is cooking up next. But for now, Ronnie Baker's self titled CD is a musically appetizing.

RONNIE BAKER’S LINE DANCE HIT

Urban Cowboy Wannabe is the brand new line dance to the Ronnie Baker hit of the same name. The dance comes courtesy of top UK choreographer Gaye Teather and is now being learned in line dance clubs up and down the country.

If you’ve not got hold of it yet, the dance steps are available on our website (http://www.ukcountryradio.com/ronnieBakerLinedance.html). Here you can download the dance steps, watch a demo video of the dance, and download the track to practice to.

The full version of the song is available on Ronnie Baker’s self-titled debut album. We think this is excellent and it remains on sale in our Online Music Store (www.ukcountryradio.com/store.html) for the bargain price of just £5.00.

We’re hoping to hear more of Ronnie in 2010. Plans are at an early stage for his first ever UK tour. We’ll keep you posted!

Billboard Magazine

Country music is something of a muddle these days, with reviewers and critics drawing lines between contemporary popular country, alternative triple A country, and traditional country. Of all the categories, the third is the most confusing because it refers to popular country made anytime between the '20s and the '70s or '80s. Ronnie Baker sings traditional country on his 2007 self-titled, though songs like "One Bar Town" wouldn't be too out of place of contemporary country radio. The thing is, Baker, while supplementing steel with electric guitar, is never quite as over-the-top as the radio's current heartthrobs. A song like "All I Can Do Is Love You" is a tasteful, easy-flowing love song with fiddles and a gentle backbeat; "Urban Cowboy Wanna Be" moves to a medium-tempo boogie, updating Jimmy Buffett's "Brand New Country Star." "Urban Cowboy Wanna Be" also qualifies as Baker's comment on the less-than-genuine propagators of country. The acoustic-electric band arrangements are well done, and carefully chosen to fit each song. Baker's also a soulful singer, quite at home with the chosen material. For those disillusioned with contemporary quality but not quite ready to jump on the alternative bandwagon, Ronnie Baker has put together an enjoyable, well-made country album. ~ Ronnie D. RONNIE BAKER DELIVERS BIG TIME

author: NCFAN

This very rich talented artist gives you so much in one CD that it makes we want to ask who do we blame for this not being on so-called popular radio? The music executives, who I think have no clue to what me, you, the music fan wants or do we blame some other group? The bottom line this CD is gold. Songs 2,7,8,9, and 14 all could be released as singles and do quit well in my opinion. I also think Ronnie should redo a song Brad Martin had on his CD called “Damn The Whiskey” I think Ronnie could take this song and make it his own and maybe some suite and tie could hear what we the music fan hears

EUROPEAN RADIO REVIEWS

Stuart Camaron "SOMEBODY STOLE THE SUN"

Your song has already been to # 16  in the European Most Popular Tracks Chart as voted for by the most influential DJs in Europe and some even further afield. Only the elite tracks from the recent Hotdiscs deemed good enough by the DJs get into this chart on merit so this is a great achievement; and there are many major label acts in the Top 40 too.

Best WishesStuart Cameron

One of the things I love about this job is listening to all of the new music I receive. I do make a point of making sure I listen to everything, because you just never know where you might spot a hidden gem. And thatÕs happened this month when I received a copy of an album by a man IÕd never heard of before. HeÕs Ronnie Baker, an American artist. I put his CD on in the car and was amazed at how well the tracks were produced, the songwriting, and the great country instrumentation. ItÕs my idea of how contemporary country should be. Last month we featured RonnieÕs track One Bar Town and listen out this month for Somebody Stole The Sun. ItÕs a song thatÕs already making an impact in America, having charted twice on the Music Row charts in Nashville.

NEW RELEASE REVIEWS

BAKER SCORES BIG WITH NEW CD

Country Music Star Ronnie Baker scores a big hit with his new album, "RONNIE BAKER". Fans of Baker will no doubt play the hit song "Somebody Stole The Sun" over and over, but don't be fooled into believing this is just another CD with one good song on it.Baker's album is full of great music, and he manages to bring us ballads and up-tempo songs with the same zeal and love of singing that is one of his hallmarks. While Somebody Stole The Sun deserves the accolades it has been receiving, don't pass up "One Bar Town" or "All I Can Do Is Love You". Both are great indicators that Baker's new album is going to take the country music world by storm."From The Bottom Of My Heart," another track on this CD shows Baker's talent to the fullest, providing the listener with a picture painted in music and vocals. Baker, who is no stranger to the charts, with "Somebody Stole the Sun" breaking into the top 200 of Billboard, is rapidly getting attention on both terrestrial and Internet radios as someone to take seriously. His rich tones, and his energetic performance on each track makes this a great CD and one worthy of any serious country music fan. It's not just one good song on a full CD, it's solid music for the entire album.
